Nominations now open for 2023 Internationalization Achievement Awards
UCalgary’s Internationalization Achievement Awards recognize the impact made by individuals toward reaching the goals of UCalgary’s Global Engagement Plan and making an impact toward the internationalization of the university.
We’re looking for innovators in internationalization and will be recognizing individuals in two new award categories this year — postdoctoral scholar and leadership.
The Postdoctoral Scholar Award will acknowledge efforts made toward strengthening international research collaborations, disseminating knowledge through refereed scholarly publications, presenting the scholarly publications in international venues, and sharing international knowledge and experience.
The Leadership Award will recognize an individual who has demonstrated exceptional leadership in global engagement on our campus, and advanced international education and research. This award is designated for someone in a leadership role such as dean, department head, program or services director.
Other award categories include student, academic staff, staff, community member and career achievement.
The Global Engagement Plans aims to increase the diversity of the campus community, improve global and intercultural capacity within our campus, and enhance global partnerships.
Nominees and programs will be evaluated on:
- Outstanding achievement in the sustainable internationalization of an academic program, department, faculty, or the university
- Furthering of the university’s Global Engagement Plan goals
- Demonstrating collaboration, innovation, leadership and impact
Awards will be presented at an award ceremony in spring 2023. The nomination deadline is Oct. 31. Make a nomination today!
