The Cumming School of Medicine (CSM) is mourning the loss of business leader and philanthropist Ken Stephenson. Ken passed away June 1, 2021 at the age of 87.

Ken is the namesake and founding donor for the Stephenson Cardiac Imaging Centre. More than a donor, Ken remained actively involved from the establishment of the centre in 2005 until his passing.

The Stephenson Cardiac Imaging Centre at the Libin Cardiovascular Institute of Alberta is a diagnostic facility dedicated to cardiovascular magnetic resonance, a medical imaging technology for the assessment of the cardiovascular system function and structure.

In addition to his many contributions to the medical school, Ken was an instrumental founding partner of CDL-Rockies at the Haskayne School of Business.

Ken was recognized with a UCalgary honorary degree in 2021.
