English doctoral student and author longlisted for Giller Prize
Joshua Whitehead, a doctoral student and sessional instructor in the Department of English has been longlisted for the prestigious 2018 Scotiabank Giller Prize for his novel Jonny Appleseed.
Jonny Appleseed is the Pequis First Nation author’s first novel. Whithead is also the author of the experimental poetry collection full-metal indigiqueer.
Whitehead is one of 12 authors to be shortlisted for the elite literary prize, an annual $100,000 award that recognizes the best in Canadian fiction.
