After I’ve applied, what’s next?

Hello again from the UCalgary Admissions Office! You’ve taken the first step to complete your application, and now you're asking what’s next? After you’ve applied, there are five important steps to follow.

1. Watch your email: After you apply, we'll start communicating with you through email. Check your inbox for information about timelines, transcripts and next steps. It is important to also check your junk folder as some UCalgary emails have been blocked in the past by email filters with accounts such as Yahoo or Hotmail.
    
2. Apply for scholarships and awards: You don't need to wait for an admission offer to complete our entrance awards applications. To learn more about applying for some of the $5 million in awards, scholarships and bursaries available for high school students, click here.
    
3. Check your status:  Log into your My UCalgary Student Centre to find details on your application status, required documents and deadlines specific to your application.
    
4. Submit your documents: If you have attended a high school or post-secondary institution in Alberta that participates in ApplyAlberta, the University of Calgary will obtain your transcripts on your behalf. There is no need to send them to us.
   
   If you attended a high school or post-secondary institution outside Alberta, you can upload an unofficial transcript to your My UCalgary Student Centre so that we can begin our evaluation. For information on what to upload and a video about how to upload, see our documents page.
    
5. Apply for residence: If you’re applying directly from high school, our multi-year residence guarantee ensures you’ll have a place to live on campus for your first two years of study. Click here to learn more.

What if I want to change the programs that I applied to?

You can change your program choices anytime until March 1, 2020. Page 31 of our How to Apply Walkthrough will guide you through the process.
