CIH Director receives Faculty of Arts Impact Award

Dr. James Ellis has received a Faculty of Arts Impact Award for work on the Calgary Atlas Project

CIH director Dr. James Ellis was honored Tuesday April 28 at the Faculty of Arts for his work on the Calgary Atlas Project. Dr. Ellis was one of four honourees receiving The Impact Award for Connection, Community and Culture. Through his direction of the Calgary Atlas Project and his leadership of the Calgary Institute for the Humanities, Dr. Ellis works collaboratively with community historians, artists and activists to centre marginalized perspectives in ways that challenge dominant narratives of place and belonging.
