Biography

Dr. Muhammad Ahsan obtained his medical degree (MBBS) at Dow Medical College, Karachi, Pakistan. In 1999, he completed residency in general surgery (FRCS - Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland). He completed cardiac surgery training from 2000-2008 in Ireland (FRCS- Cardiac Surgery
Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada). Dr. Ahsan completed fellowships in adult cardiac surgery, complex aortic surgery, and TAVR  at St. Michael’s Hospital, University of Toronto. Dr. Ahsan worked as a staff cardiac surgeon in the Toronto, Newmarket and Kitchener areas of Ontario and in St. John’s, Newfoundland before moving to Calgary.
