About Tine Haworth
Tine Haworth (1922-2019) is the namesake of the annual Tine Haworth Cardiovascular Research Day and the Tine Haworth Scholarship in Cardiovascular Research.
Her passion for education and cardiovascular health prompted her to donate more than $3.7 million to the Libin Cardiovascular Institute.
Dr. E.R. Smith Lectureship in Cardiovascular Research
The Dr. E.R. Smith Lectureship in Cardiovascular Research was established to honour Dr. Eldon Smith, who served as Dean of the Faculty of Medicine from 1992-1997.
The lectureship, created to further scientific knowledge and training of students in the area of cardiovascular disease, is delivered annually by a distinguished researcher at the Libin Institute's Tine Haworth Cardiovascular Research, held in April each year. The winner also meets informally with Libin faculty and trainees to exchange scientific ideas.
