Our history
On March 6, 2003, the Alvin and Mona Libin Foundation presented $15 million, which was then the largest one-time donation, to Alberta Health Services and the University of Calgary.
The Memorandum of Understanding, formally establishing the Libin Cardiovascular Institute, was signed by the University of Calgary, Alberta Health Services, and the Alvin and Mona Libin Foundation on January 27, 2004.

The Libin Cardiovascular Institute was made possible through the generation donation of founding donors Mona and Alvin Libin.
